ASSETs Program

After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens ASSETs

SDCOE partners with school districts and charter schools across the county in the implementation of the High School After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens (ASSETs) grant.

Oak Glen High School has created a site-specific program that includes tutoring,  college and career prep courses, visual and performing arts, youth leadership, service learning, and physical activity. The program is voluntary for students. Regular participation in high-quality after school programs is linked to gains in student achievement, increased regular-day attendance, a reduction in behavior problems and increased graduation rates.
